I decided to go on holiday with my housemates. It was during the first two lecture weeks at university. We hadn't gone on holiday together this summer so we figured it'd be better to miss the starting lectures than any later on. The idea was to get as far north as possible in a car, in 8 days (well 4, if we wanted to get back as well). The first destination was Trondheim, the last large city when going to the north of Norway.
We were on the road for a few hours when suddenly Gordon Freeman appeared in our Opel Vivaro 1.9 CDTI, on the free seat in the back left. We didn't notice until we took a break in Germany to stretch our legs and have a cup of coffee in the middle of the night. 'I didn't see you get on' was the first thing I said to him. He didn't say much. He took my housemate's digital camera and seemed clearly upset with the German policies.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the Gamescom coverage like I had intended to. The event was amazing and I would've loved covering it properly, but every time we got back to the hotel I was too tired to do anything. I'll make sure I improve my event coverage for next time! In other news, I have attended Multiplay.co.uk's i43 last weekend which was a blast as always. If you have any questions regarding LAN parties in general or going to the i-series as a foreigner, look to the right for ways to contact me.
Upcoming Monday will be the start of my Masters degree course at the University of Technology Delft, so once I have chosen what courses I will take the first semester, I will be talking about my motivation for doing them. I hope to explain my vision of the Computer Science field with the courses as a guideline.

I just got back to our Hotel after an exhausting day 1 of Gamescon. It actually was an amazing day which, although I barely speak any German, turned out quite well. We (Zhi-Kang Shao, Alwin Rombout and myself) left home at 7.00AM to arrive at the Gamescon event around 10.00AM. We bought our season tickets after a long, long wait and decided to eat some lunch in the quite overpriced cafeteria in the main hallway. After going outside, checking into our hotel and travelling back to the venue, the following is the relevant stuff.
